Woolly Jelly Palm

full germination instructions included
At first sight looking much like Butia capitata it is immediately distinguishable by its woolly appearance on the trunk. Indeed the red-brown colouration of this rather thick fur is visible from quite a distance and renders identification quite easy. This attractive feature, together with the fact that it is probably the most cold hardy in the genus, makes it an excellent proposition for the
uk garden. Very tolerant of wind and severe freezing. Butia eriospatha comes from extreme southern
Brazil where it grows up to about 1200m (4000ft).
