This palm is widespread in Southeast Asia , and has a robust, solitary trunk and large, circular, shiny green leaves. Mature plants carry big clusters of showy, bright blue fruits. It is extremely fast growing . It also makes an excellent pot plant when young, with the big, swollen thorns on the leaf stalk adding to its attractiveness.
