A subtropical species native to the Himalayas in Bhutan and northeastern India . Its pseudostems can reach a height of up to 4.5 m (15 ft.). The fruits are sweet but have seeds.The plant is similar to Musa itinerans yunnan , slender with blue grey stems and a red flush to the reverse of new leaves. Not very likely to be that cold hardy but got to be worth trying out.
