Trunkless, understory palm and with large, stiff, blue-green leaves, this tough and attractive palm flowers and sets seed while still quite young. It is one of the hardiest of all palms, but is rather slow-growing in our cool climate so would be better suited to the conservatory unless much patience is exerted.
